WINTER/SPRING 2010 SERVICES

Broadleaf Weeds is the term used to describe all annual and perennial non-grass weeds including Bindii (which sets a nasty prickle unless sprayed early before seed set), as well as Clover, Fleabane, Cudweed, Flat Weed and creeping Oxalis. Broadleaf Weeds spoil lawn appearance and will cause long term damage unless kept under regular control.

We use Spearhead on Broadleaf Weeds to ensure the best results for your lawn. While it takes longer to completely kill some larger weeds, it gives excellent results on all Broadleaf Weeds, notably Cudweed and Oxalis. It also gives top results under all conditions, even if rain or mowing occurs soon after spraying. Spearhead has no smell and is classified ‘schedule 5’, so it is the safest and least offensive product ever available for this purpose. Spearhead also has a residual control period for prevention of yet-to-germinate weeds.

The earlier you book the sooner we can clear your lawn of weeds and the better the result, which is, we guarantee complete control of all Broadleaf Weeds. If you are not completely satisfied with the results a free return visit will be booked to respray where necessary, provided you call between 4 and 6 weeks after treatment and provided our account is paid.

OPTION TO ADD EARLY SPRING FERTILISATION

We strongly recommend fertilising now with a range of proven liquid products which give more even, sustained feeding than other fertilisers. These add to overall greenness, and provide your lawn with the nutrients it needs during the cooler months. The nutrients are immediately absorbed through the grass leaves and stored by the plant until required.

OPTION TO ADD CRABGRASS PRE-EMERGENT CONTROL

This consists of an application of the herbicide, Dimension. This option will be of extra value to you if you observed Crabgrass in your lawn last summer. As it is difficult to kill once it has germinated, industry best practice is to apply Dimension in spring as a ‘pre-emergent’ to prevent it coming up at all in the season.

POST-EMERGENT WINTERGRASS CONTROL

If you did not take our pre-winter pre-emergent spray for Wintergrass there is a chance you may have a heavy crop of it now, which will be damaging your lawn while looking terrible. If this is the case post-emergent control now is a good option. This will be scheduled at a separate later time to the other services.
